Written while Dowager Empress, a letter to "Madame the Princess of Wolkonsky, which reads, in part (translated): "I have had the pleasure of receiving your letter of the 18th from Tiver, and you may well imagine how gratifying it was to learn that my daughter is feeling so perfectly well, in spite of the fatigue of the voyage. I am very appreciative of your solicitousness in providing me with news of her. In turn, you must derive satisfaction from the fact that you have such good news to convey to me." In fine condition, with intersecting folds.
