(American International, 1958) Original color 14 x 36 insert movie poster for the American International release of the 1958 science fiction-horror film The Brain Eaters. Produced by an uncredited Roger Corman and Ed Nelson, who stars alongside Alan Jay Factor, Joanna Lee, and a young Leonard Nimoy, the film's storyline concerns a small town that is overrun by creatures that attach themselves to people's heads and overtake their minds, turning them into zombies. This vividly colored poster is dominated by the large head of a yellow-eyed woman with sharp teeth and open skull revealing a brain under the bold yellow title logo, with text to right side reading: "Crawling, slimy things terror-bent on destroying the world!" Lower border bears an NSS caption line and is numbered "58/419." In very good condition, with dampstaining and associated rippling to the top and bottom. After the release of The Brain Eaters, science fiction author Robert A. Heinlein sued for plagiarism, asking for damages of $150,000 and claiming that the film ripped off his novel The Puppet Masters.
