Very desirable pair of color 27 x 41 one sheet movie posters for the Warner Bros. release of George Miller’s 1981 post-apocalyptic action film The Road Warrior, the highly acclaimed sequel to 1979’s Mad Max. The first poster features a large well-armored truck driving away from a sun-splashed oil refinery with halves of figures to either side of poster; figure on right undoubtedly that of Mel Gibson’s title character Mad Max, and the left figure clad with a crossbow gauntlet worn by Wez, a mohawked, leather-clad biker played by actor Vernon Wells. Upper text reads: “In the future, cities will become deserts, roads will become battlefields and the hope of mankind will appear as a stranger.” Lower right corner identifies the poster as “NSS-820083.” The second poster shows Gibson in a full-length pose as the armed and leather-wearing title character against a black background with left side dominated with bold red and white reviews from critics lauding the movie as “An astonishing action masterpiece” and “A sensational slam-bang end-of-the-world picture.” Lower right corner identifies the poster as “Style B,” with identical NSS number. In overall fine, folded condition.
