German composer, conductor, pianist, guitarist, and critic, one of the first significant composers of the Romantic school (1786-1826). ALS in German, signed “C. M. v. Weber,” one page, 7.5 x 8.75, January 6, 1825. Letter to Mr. J. A. Lecerff, Wohlgeboren, in full (translated): "Your esteemed lines of may 30th gave me a real pleasure. I feel happy if I don't see an increasing of my manifold experiences, and I fully and willingly believe and trust in your kind assurances. Please excuse my late answer and ascribe it to my shyness to use the ink at the moment [i.e. to write letters] and please rest assured of my kind respect." Professionally inlaid into a larger sheet and in very good condition, with staining, soiling, and professional repairs to tears and areas of paper loss.
