Unique aluminum paper clamp, 2.25 x 2, flown and used on the lunar module in Earth orbit during the Apollo 9 mission. The clip was used to hold open checklists, flight data files, and other paper items. Numbered "P/N SEB32100094-30, S/N 1048, ASSY," which conclusively ties the item to the flight manifest. Accompanied by a signed illustrated letter of provenance from James McDivitt that reads, "I certify that this aluminum paper clamp was flown aboard the LM Spider during the Apollo 9 mission, and is from my personal collection." The Apollo 9 mission is historic as it is the first flight of a lunar module, and the first full shakeout test flight in Earth orbit of all the major Apollo equipment, including the command module, command service module, and lunar module.
