United States Air Force four-star general (1921-1990) who served as Director of NASA's Apollo Manned Lunar Landing Program from 1964 to 1969, and returned to Air Force duty following the success of the Apollo 11 mission. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Phillips in his Air Force uniform, signed and inscribed in white ink, "To Ken and Joyce Browne, with my compliments, Sam C. Phillips, Lt. Gen. USAF, Apollo Program Director, NASA 1969.” Reverse bears typed collector's notations indicating that it was received in 1969. In fine condition, with several paperclip impressions.
