Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Delaware (1734-1817) who later served as president of the Continental Congress, Chief Justice of Pennsylvania, and Governor of Pennsylvania. Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “Tho. M:Kean,” one page, 20.5 x 12, July 16, 1806. As governor of Pennsylvania, McKean grants "a certain tract of land, called 'Greenhill'…containing Eleven hundred acres." Boldly signed in the upper left corner by Governor McKean, and countersigned at the conclusion by James Trimble as deputy secretary. The white paper seal affixed to the upper left remains fully intact. In fine condition, with light edge toning.
