Two TLSs by the comedic collaborators: one by George S. Kaufman, signed "George," one page, personal letterhead, no date, to "Ferbus" [author Edna Ferber], in part: "I hear from the Guild that you did not want the Irving Place to do the play—I had already written them to the same effect. I understand that you have revised 'Stage Door' for high schools. I have not had a chance to look it over yet, but thought the guy wrote a very good letter. The director of dramatics, I mean"; and one by Moss Hart, one page, personal letterhead, postmarked March 30, 1931, to David Wallace, in part: "It's quite true about my returning that ten thousand dollars to Metro. Created quite a stir, I can tell you. As a matter of fact I had a contract calling for fifty thousand dollars and could have held them to it, but I felt I wasn't doing good work, and not only tore up the contract but returned the ten thousand dollars I had drawn to date. Awful thing, artistic integrity. Remind me of it when you find me selling pencils in Shubert Alley in about two years." In overall fine condition, with a rusty paperclip impression to the top edge of the Kaufman letter and a light diagonal crease to the Hart letter. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope for the Hart letter.
