Brilliant vintage glossy 6.5 x 5 photo of the Beatles in their matching gray collarless suits, signed and inscribed in black ballpoint, "To Nick, best wishes from the Beatles, John Lennon," "Paul McCartney," "George Harrison," and "Jimmie Nicol.” The top corners of the photo are affixed to a beige 10 x 8 sheet. In very good to fine condition, with adhesion troubles to McCartney's last name, and surface impressions of two other Nicol signatures, apparently from items signed on top of this photo.
The Beatles stormed Australia early into their first world tour, playing eight shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney between June 12 and 20, 1964, a span made notable by the presence of drummer Jimmie Nicol, who replaced Ringo Starr from June 3-15 while the latter was recovering from tonsillitis and pharyngitis. A decidedly very rare item given that Nicol was with the Beatles for less than two weeks.
