Younger brother of Napoleon (1775-1840) who served in various official capacities, including Minister of the Interior. ALS in French, one page, 7 x 8.75, November 1, 1835. Letter to Mr. Battes, in which he says that his valet will consign to him a chest of objects belonging to his brother, Joseph Bonaparte, addressed to Mr. Maillard. He begs him to ensure that the chest will be shipped at the first opportunity. He is embarrassed that a letter from Mr. Barring had followed him all over Scotland and he fears they will have accused him of negligence. They ask for Joseph's address in America and he asks Mr. Battes to give it to them and also to relay his kind sentiments to them. In a postscript he says that he will be in London in a few days and once again urges him to send an enclosure to his brother by the first ship. Professionally inlaid into a slightly larger sheet and in fine condition. Accompanied by an engraving of a bust of Lucien Bonaparte.
