Description

On a portrait of her late husband—"If Theodore had liked it he would surely have spoken to me"

ALS signed “Edith Kermit Roosevelt,” one page both sides, 5.75 x 3.75, Sagamore Hill letterhead, October 24, 1921. Letter to Mr. Thayer, in full: "Thank you very much. I do not remember anything about the portrait. If Theodore had liked it he would surely have spoken to me. In any case I will give the address to any member of the family who showed interest. I wish I thought that there would be a chance of our meeting. I suppose you do not often come to New York. I never go to Boston, or anywhere in fact." In fine condition.
