TLS signed “James A. McDivitt,” one page, 8 x 10.5, NASA letterhead, September 23, 1964. Letter to Ken Browne, in part: "I want to thank you for writing to me upon the occasion of my selection as a crew member for the GT-4 flight which is scheduled for launch in 1965…The interest of the American people throughout our Nation in our space program is a powerful incentive to all of us who are diligently engaged in this vital work." He adds a lengthy handwritten postscript: "P.S. Just last nite I was looking through some things I had saved from my time at Edwards A.F.B. What a coincidence to find a letter I had received from the Browne family of Miss. It was congratulating me for an article 'Young People on the Way Up' in the S.E. Post. Thanks again!" In very good to fine condition, with staple holes to the top left, and trivial corner paper loss. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
