Official letter directed to German playwright Bertolt Brecht, in full: "I have therefore given suggestions and written material for a revised version of your play, The Caucasian Circle of Chalk. I hereby acknowledge that whatever ideas I have had and whatever material I have written in connection with said play shall be the sole and absolute property of Bertolt Brecht to do with as he deems advisable, free from any and all obligations to me of whatsoever kind or nature financial or otherwise." Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Auden. In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds, paper loss to the upper left corner, and toning to the perimeter.
