Description

Arthur Osterwall (1910-1990) was a Swedish band leader, composer, vocalist and double bassist who was also a jazz columnist and entertainment reporter in the Evening Post. Vintage ink signatures of the Arthur Osterwall Orchestra on an off-white 4.5 x 3.5 sheet, including: Arthur Osterwall, Ake 'Stan' Hasselgard, Bertil Frylmark, and two others. Matted with a photo of the band to an overall size of 9.5 x 11.75. In fine condition. Hasselgard was a Swedish jazz clarinetist (1922-1948) who moved to New York City and played with Jack Teagarden and Max Roach before joining the septet of Benny Goodman in 1948, the same year Hasselgard was killed in a car accident.
