LS signed “Dan'l Webster,” one page, 8 x 10, November 19, 1842. Letter to Philip Bovee, in part: "I…am unable to furnish you any information regarding the claim of the Bovee family…The intelligence in respect to this subject received by Mr. Palmer, and to which you refer, has probably been obtained through the intervention of the charge d'affaires of the United States at the Hague, or from the American Consul at Amsterdam. The claim appears to be one of a private character, and the proper mode of prosecuting it would seem to be by engaging for the purpose of the services of a private agent." Affixed to a mount and in very good condition, with overall toning and soiling.
