Large collection of Brad Delp's handwritten working lyrics on 55 pages, slips, and pieces of scrap paper of various sizes, contained within a black 8.75 x 12 portfolio. Known songs represented within the archive include RTZ's 'All You've Got,' 'Better and Better,' 'Given You Up For Dead,' 'Don't Lead Me On,' 'Rise Above it All,' 'This Is My Life,' 'One Step Away,' 'One In A Million,' 'Don't Wait,' 'Violent Days,' 'Fool for Love,' and 'Devil To Pay,' as well as Delp and Goudreau's 'Rockin' Away.' Many of these compositions are represented multiple times in varying stages of completeness, in addition to apparently unpublished material.
Among the most interesting pieces in the archive are drafts of Delp and Goudreau's 'Rockin' Away,' which allude to their beginnings in Boston: "I grew up in the 60's / 67 was the summer of love / Those were times when the music had somethin to say / Hitched a ride with a rock & roll band / (we) made a demo it was more than a feelin / We shipped it off and we thought we were / well on our way—hey—." In overall very good to fine condition. From the Brad Delp Collection, and accompanied by a letter of provenance from Micki Delp.
