"Perhaps Lady Hoskins would let me have Lewis Carrol's new story"

Granddaughter of Queen Victoria and consort of Alfonso XIII (1887-1969). ALS signed “Victoria B.,” on both sides of a 5 x 3.75 personal stationery card, no date. On holiday in Malta, the royal vacationer requests some diversion, in part: "I should be very much obliged to you, if you would lend me some kind of book to read—I have finished all mine. Perhaps Lady Hoskins would let me have Lewis Carrol's [sic] new story. I hear she has got it." In very good to fine condition, with white mounting tape to the left edge, and staple holes to the upper right corner.
