Robert DeLeo's personally owned and studio-used 1968 Kawai Concert electric bass guitar with sunburst-finish. Includes the original hardshell carrying case. In fine condition, with expected wear from use and storage. Accompanied by a copy of Guitar World magazine from August 1994, which shows Dean and Robert DeLeo on the front cover, with the latter posing with this very hollowbody Kawai Concert bass. DeLeo routinely uses a wide variety of vintage basses for recording purposes, opting for oddball off-brand basses from the 1960s, particularly short-scale hollowbody basses that he equips with flatwound strings.According to DeLeo in a 2015 article in Bass Guitar Magazine: 'Every once in a while I get on this Japanese kick and start collecting quirky ‘60s and ‘70s stuff from that country...I don’t dare take any of the old rare stuff out on the road.'
