Description

French composer (1857-1934) who played a key role in the introduction of realism in French opera. Vintage pearl-finish 4.25 x 5.75 portrait of Bruneau by esteemed Parisian photographer Henri Manuel, affixed to the original 8 x 12 studio mount, signed and inscribed on the mount in French in black ink by Bruneau, who adds three bars of music from "L'Attaque du moulin." Also signed on the mount in pencil by Manuel. In very good to fine condition, with toning and light staining to the mount. A very desirable example given the presence of Manuel and Bruneau's crisp musical quote.
