Plans for publishing God's Samurai: "Dr. Gordon Prange, professor of the Maryland University is now editting it into a fine English literature"

One of Japan's most skilled fliers, Fuchida (1902-1976) commanded the air attack against Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and was the last to leave the battle area. After World War II, Fuchida converted to Christianity and became a nondenominational preacher, traveling frequently to America and later becoming a US citizen. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, December 14, 1968. Letter to Mr. and Mrs. Ken Brown, in part: "Please forgive me for not writing answer promptly but I have been ill suffering from a heart disease called in the Japanese 'Shinkin Kowsoku.' This is the most dangerous desease being caused a hear-attack and I have been in a hospital keeping absolutely calm since the last summer. I am now recovering but the doctors say that it would be after the next April to be back to the society…About the book of my story it has not yet been published but it is still underway by MacGraw-Hill publisher in New York. A temporaly name of the book is 'God's Samurai' but I do'nt know when it would be published since Dr. Gordon Prange, professor of the Maryland University is now editting it into a fine English literature." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
