Description

Austrian-born composer (1874-1951) whose development of the 'twelve-tone' system proved to be one of the most far-reaching innovations in the history of 20th century music. ANS in German, signed "Arnold Schonberg," below a letter written by his wife Mathilde on a 5.5 x 3.5 postcard, no date but annotated 1926. Schonberg pens an untranslated one-line note beneath his wife's message, which reads, in part (translated): "Dear Ema, Heartfelt thanks for your best wishes on our trip. Hopefully things will go better for you soon so you can finally come to Vienna." In fine condition, with two faint paperclip impressions.
