Description

ALS signed with his nickname “Kik,” two pages, 5 x 6.5, 8 Pelham Place letterhead, no date. Letter to designer and artist Simon Fleet, in part: "How kind of you to give me this lovely present of plates cups saucers etc etc all in the China that is most useful. It is really just what we want & I could not thank you enough. It is kind & generous of you. Thank you. I'm afraid I won't be coming to Stratford after all…I'll be down here over the weekend in case you feel like coming over. Do try & come over some time when you have a free hour or so as we haven't had the opportunity to for a quiet talk the whole summer long." Handsomely matted and framed with a Fabian Bachrach portrait of Beaton to an overall size of 24.5 x 14.5. In fine condition.
