Highly skilled and influential diplomat (1754-1838) who served the French government from the reign of Louis XVI through that of Louis-Philippe. LS in French, signed “Le p'ce de Talleyrand,” one page, 7.25 x 9, August 24, 1815. Written from Paris, a letter to Baron Marchand, General Director of War Equipment, in full (translated): "The Doumers left my place a few minutes ago. They came to tell me how hard their current situation was, due to these unfortunate circumstances. My old affection for the father, and my concern for the son make me very sensitive to their misfortune. I have no doubt that you too will appreciate their situation. Thus, I am asking you to be as generous as you can be with them, when you distribute the funds that are, or soon will be, at your disposal." In fine condition.
