TLS signed “Fondly, Mamie Eisenhower,” one page, 6.5 x 9, personal letterhead, July 13, 1973. Letter to Mollie Cullum, in part: “Barbara and John came over to be with me on July first which was Ike’s and my 57th wedding Anniversary. General and Mrs. Heaton called me on the thirtieth, which was their wedding anniversary, to remind me of the times that we had celebrated together—the thirtieth and the first. They were both fine and were having a social whirl at Pinehurst. In our television bulletin last night it told that Mr. Nixon was taken to the hospital with pneumonia. I telephoned and talked to Pat and she said that he had been feeling rather poorly for several days but 'man-like' would not give in. He has been so well all through his four years that I imagine this Watergate has been a very difficult period for him to take and to continue with his meeting of foreign visitors and world affairs." In fine condition.
