Description

Stage-worn in Rome during the Bad Tour

Michael Jackson's stage-worn black wool fedora by the Golden Gate Hat Company, marked on the inner sweatband with gold text, "Michael Jackson." A small golden tag reads: "Medium, WPL 3923, 100% Wool, Made in U.S.A." The inner crown features the maker's mark, reading: "International Collection, Established 1923, Golden Gate Hat Company, Los Angeles, California." Jackson wore this hat on stage during his concert in Rome on May 24, 1988, as part of the Bad Tour, and it was recovered after the show by a stagehand. Includes a color 5 x 7 photograph of Jackson holding this hat on stage in Rome, as well as the stagehand's white polo shirt, embroidered: "Michael Jackson, The Bad Tour, Rome, 23 May 1988." In fine condition. Jackson performed at the Stadio Flaminio in Rome, Italy, on May 23 and 24, 1988, and tossed this hat to the lower part of the stage during the second show. A trademark element of Jackson's stage style, he commonly wore hats by the Golden Gate Hat Company. A fantastic concert-worn piece from the legendary entertainer.
