A typical federal revolver cartridge box with small “US” and “T. J. Shepard” inspector cartouche on the outside of the cover flap. The leather is in good condition, but does have heavy crazing at the edges of the cover, along with moderate flaking on the flex points. The interior is in fine shape, although the inner walls of the compartment are bowed inwards and away from the exterior walls. The closure tab is well worn, but intact, and the belt loops have some light crackling as well.
