Senator from Alabama and Confederate General (1824-1907) in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. ALS signed “Jno. T. Morgan,” one page, 5 x 6.75, July 17, 1884. Written from Clifton Springs, New York, a letter to James Perry, in full: "The principle battles of the Civil War in which I was engaged were First Manassas, Peninsulas at York Town, Murfreesborough, Knoxville, Chickamauga, Atlanta, Dandridge, Mossy Creek. I was in a great many affairs of less note." In fine condition, with two small stains touching the closing.
