Russian writer, explorer, and adventurer (1870-1938) best known for his story The Duel. ANS in Russian, signed “A. Kuprin,” 5.5 x 7, no date. In full (translated): "Dear Vladimir Lvovich, I am sending you two tickets to Yama." In fine condition, with a central horizontal fold, light soiling, and two file holes to the left edge. Yama, or The Pit, centered on the lives of prostitutes in a brothel, was one of Kuprin's most ambitious and controversial novels. In this letter, he sends tickets to some type of cultural event—an author's reading or theatrical presentation—related to the famous work.
