Four items: a vintage glossy 5 x 6 half-length photo of Sandburg seated in an office, signed and inscribed in the upper border in black ink, “The Kenneth Brownes, 1955—Carl Sandburg”; a TLS signed “Carl Sandburg,” one page, no date, Connemara Farm letterhead, addressed to Ken Browne, in part: “My rating of Ike is a little higher than conveyed on TV. There is a certain monotonous coloration to his personality. He has no such range of grief and laughter, of deep intimacy with current issues, as are to be seen in Lincoln”; an ANS signed “Carl Sandburg” on a 5.5 x 8.5 book page with applied image, addressed to “Joyce and “Ken,” thanking them for a thoughtful letter; and a bank check filled out and signed in another hand, payable to Carl Sandburg for $2, May 10, 1951, endorsed on the reverse in black ink, “Carl Sandburg.” Includes an original mailing envelope hand-addressed by Sandburg, who incorporates his signature into the return address field, postmarked August 12, 1957.
