Princess Anne, the Princess Royal Anne is patron of over 200 organisations in the United Kingdom and British Commonwealth; and is Colonel in Chief of numerous units, regiments and corps in the British and Commonwealth armed forces. She is also a highly accomplished equestrian, having won two silver medals (1975) and one gold medal (1971) at the European Eventing Championships. She is also the first member of the British Royal Family to have competed in the Olympic Games. Princess Anne has held the title of Princess Royal since 1987.
