Description

One of Japan's most skilled fliers, Fuchida (1902-1976) commanded the air attack against Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and was the last to leave the battle area. After World War II, Fuchida converted to Christianity and became a nondenominational preacher, traveling frequently to America and later becoming a US citizen. Signed book: Midway: The Battle That Doomed Japan. Later printing. Annapolis: United States Naval Institute, 1957. Hardcover with dust jacket, 6.25 x 9.25, 266 pages. Signed on a slip affixed to the dedication page in English and Japanese, "Mitsuo Fuchida…Luke 23:34." Also inscribed in another hand, "To Mr. &. Mrs. Stanley Kreage, Courtesy of Sky Pilots of America." In fine condition, with light adhesive residue around the signature, and light wear to the dust jacket.
