TLS as president signed “Wm. H. Taft,” one page, 7 x 8.75, White House letterhead, November 7, 1912. Letter to Miss Harriet Holmes in Cincinnati, in full: "I wish to thank you cordially for your letter of November 5th, which I received at Cincinnati, and which pleased me very much. I greatly appreciate your good wishes." In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing, intersecting folds, and old mounting residue on the back of the blank integral leaf. The incumbent Taft lost the 1912 presidential election, held on November 5th, to Democrat Woodrow Wilson. A desirable letter from two days after suffering this electoral defeat.
