Description

"I am anxious to make a space flight," writes Bean, "so are the other fellows in the group"

Two items: a TLS signed "Alan L. Bean," one page, 8 x 10.5, NASA letterhead, November 4, 1964, addressed to Ken Browne, in part: "I am anxious to make a space flight, but, then, so are the other fellows in the group. And, consequently, the competition keeps us pretty well on our toes. There is so much to learn and, with the continuous breakthrough and new developments, it looks as if our training activities will go on indefinitely. But, I am so thrilled to be a part of this tremendous undertaking." The second item is an official color 10 x 8 NASA lithograph of Bean working on the fuel cask mounted on the lunar module's descent stage during the Apollo 12 mission, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, "To Joyce & Ken—Best Wishes, Alan Bean." In overall very good to fine condition, with creasing and short tears to the letter's edges, and light creases and a paperclip impression to the photo.
