Letter to Colonel Horatio Collins King, a Union Army soldier and recipient of the Medal of Honor, in full: "I have received your communication of the 8th inst. informing me of my election as Commander of the M. O. L. L. U. S. [Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States] of the State of New York. In accepting the position the Commandery has again tendered me, I beg you will present my acknowledgments to the companions of our order for this new proof of their confidence." Affixed to a same-size sheet. In very good condition, with trimmed edges, and tears to the upper corners. Accompanied by an engraving of Farragut bearing a preprinted signature.
