Description

"The Democratic National Committee may have gone haywire"

TLS, one page, 7 x 9.75, personal letterhead, January 23, 1958. Letter to Dwight R. G. Palmer, in full: "The Democratic National Committee may have gone haywire. It has changed the name of the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner in Washington on February 22nd to the Truman Dinner. I hope you can come, not only because I would enjoy a good visit with you there, but also because your presence at the dinner would dispel my apprehensions about the renaming of the event. Your Governor seems to be making a great name for himself, and I could not be more pleased." Matted and framed to an overall size of 14 x 17. In fine condition, with a light stain to the upper left corner.
