The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee both are engaged in this activity. I have asked the Internal Security Subcommittee to send me some material on their work and that of the FBI which I will send to you. I hope this information will be useful. I am sure you know that there are also numerous private organizations that work to combat the atheistic Communist menace”; February 10, 1966: “All of us sincerely hope that peace talks between the United States and the North Vietnamese will become a reality. Wars are ended by negotiations and agreements. Any military or diplomatic actions which may be carried out to bring about a prompt, just and secure peace are to be encouraged”; and February 9, 1966: “I think we can agree with part of what H. G. Wells said that ‘until a man has an education, a vote is a useless and dangerous thing for him to possess.’ It is indeed a dangerous thing, but it may be very useful rather than useless.” In overall fine condition.
