Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 14 x 11, July 2, 1836. President Jackson appoints Charles K. Gardner as "Auditor of the Treasury for the Post Office Department of the United States." Signed prominently at the conclusion by Jackson, and countersigned by Secretary of State John Forsyth. Embossed white paper seal remains affixed to lower left. Matted and framed to an overall size of 19.75 x 17.5. In fine condition, with a strand of hair visible near signature.
