Description

"The parts I play have nothing to do with the life I live"

TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, June 22, 1937. Letter to Kay Ingram at the Hyatt School in Winchester, California. In part: "Thank you so much for your letter, but as I already have five full-grown dogs, two cats, a tortoise, and a canary, I simply cannot find room however much I would like to, for another pet. I am so glad to know now that the parts I play have nothing to do with the life I live, and you will find that throughout my profession the same thing applies." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
