Description

Cuban boxer (1910-1988) who enjoyed success both in the ring and in society life during the 1930s; he became Cuba's first world boxing champion when he knocked out defending world Junior Lightweight champion Benny Bass. Scarce pairing of vintage matte-finish 3.25 x 8 full-length photos of Kid Chocolate, one showing the Cuban boxer wearing a handsome suit, and the other of him sitting down in his boxing gear, both signed and inscribed in Spanish in fountain pen and dated "4-29-31." In overall fine condition, with two small holes to the top of each photo.
