AMQS on an off-white 4.25 x 7 sheet, signed below in ink, "Giacomo Puccini, Contigliano, 16.8.901." Puccini pens two bars from his iconic opera "La Boheme." In fine condition, with a stain to the upper right corner. Based on a story by French writer Henri Murger set in 1840s Paris, La Boheme was Puccini's first major success and arguably his greatest work. After its 1896 debut in Turin, the piece was quickly adopted into the international repertory; the Opera-Comique presented the French premiere in June 1898, and G. Ricordi published the first French edition of the score in Paris during the same year.
