He founded the Progressive Party and stood as its presidential nominee in the 1948 presidential election. Souvenir typescript of an Oath of Office made by former Vice President Henry A. Wallace, one page, 8.5 x 11, no date. In full: "I, Henry A. Wallace, solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God." Signed at the conclusion in ballpoint by Wallace. In fine condition, with light creasing to the perimeter.
