American writer, printer, and philosopher (1856-1915), closely associated with the Arts and Crafts movement, who perished in the Lusitania disaster. Two handsome limited edition hardcover books with leather spines: The Sonnets of Shakespeare, published by Roycroft in 1899, numbered 19/980, signed on the colophon in ink by Hubbard; and Confessions of an Opium-Eater, published by Roycroft in 1898, numbered 522/925, signed on the colophon in ink by Hubbard. In overall very good to fine condition, with heavy sunning to the slightly worn spines; inner pages are clean.
