American farmer and lawyer (1756-1798) from Queen Anne's County, Maryland, who represented the state in the Continental Congress, and later served in the House of Representatives. Manuscript DS, signed “Jos'a Seney,” one page, 7.5 x 12, June 13, 1787. Bond guaranteeing that Samuel T. Wright will properly perform his duties as the clerk of Queen Ann's County, Maryland, signed at the conclusion by Seney as a witness. Other signers include Robert Wright, a Revolutionary soldier who went on to serve as senator, and later governor, of Maryland; and John Brown, later a Maryland congressman. Professionally inlaid into a slightly larger sheet and in fine condition, with a bit of foxing, and tape reinforcement to a horizontal fold.
