Description

Prominent French mathematician and physicist (1768-1830) generally credited with the discovery of the 'greenhouse effect.' ALS in French, signed “Fourier,” one page, 7.5 x 9.25, no date. Untranslated letter to the mayor of Grenoble. Addressed on the integral address leaf in Fourier's hand. In fine condition, with seal-related paper loss to the integral address leaf.
