He was the most efficient pitcher of his generation, with no more efficient game than the one Mark Buehrle pitched on July 23, 2009. Taking a little over 2 hours, Buehrle spun a perfect game, benefitting from a home run-saving catch from 9th inning center field defensive replacement Dewayne Wise. This is a game-used ball from that game, obtained by renowned Chicago area collector Pat Quinn directly from White Sox bullpen coach Mark Salas. The ball, which exhibits tremendous game use, with various scuffs and scrapes, and has been boldly signed by Beuhrle, defensive hero Wise, White Sox catcher Ramon Castro and Salas the bullpen coach. While Buehrle added the date of the game, Wise added “7-23-09 Perfect Catch,” Castro added “I called the Perfect Game 7-23-09,” and Salas added “Bull Pen 7-23-09 Game Used Ball.” Accompanied by an LOA from White Sox bullpen catcher Mark Salas, and handwritten LOA from legendary collector Pat Quinn. Tremendous game-used and signed baseball from one of the best games ever pitched, by one of the Chicago White Sox most beloved pitchers.
