Governor's appointment for "Manager of the State Lunatic Asylum"

Partly-printed DS, one page, 18.25 x 11.75, March 21, 1883. As governor of New York, Cleveland appoints Samuel Campbell as "Manager of the State Lunatic Asylum." Neatly signed at the conclusion in ink by Governor Cleveland and countersigned by Secretary of State Joseph B. Carr. The gold foil seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. In fine condition, with central vertical and horizontal folds. Accompanied by the original transmittal letter signed by Daniel S. Lamont, as well as the original mailing envelope.
