Description

Three color glossy photos, 8 x 10 and 10 x 8, each signed in silver ink, "J. W. Christy," the American astronomer who, on June 22, 1978, while working at the United States Naval Observatory, discovered that Pluto had a moon, which he named Charon. Photo subjects include: Christy looking into a microscope; another of Christy pointing to the 'defective' photographic plate that he used to find Pluto's moon Charon in 1978; and a crystal-clear image of the cratered Plutonian moon Charon. In overall very fine condition.
