Description

French-Canadian daredevil (1891-1971) who made headlines in 1928 when he went over Niagara Falls in an enormous rubber-and-steel ball of his own design. Group of three vintage pearl-finish 3.5 x 5.5 postcards of the Niagara Falls daredevil, each showing Lussier in a full-length pose, one with him wearing a white suit and holding a cane, signed in fountain pen, "Call me Jean, 1940," and the other two showing Lussier with his famous rubber ball, both signed in fountain pen, "Jean Lussier" and "July-4/28, Jean Lussier." Includes a Welland Printing Company advertisement for Lussier, 9 x 12, showing an image of Lussier and a diagram of the rubber ball, with header reading: "See 'The Wonder of the World' Jean Lussier in person." In overall fine condition, with light silvering to the darker areas of the photos.
