Extraordinary vintage pearl-finish 8 x 10 photo of Cobb following through on a powerful swing during batting practice prior to his first season with the Philadelphia Athletics, neatly signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Eddy, From—Ty Cobb, 4/11/27.” In very good condition, with scattered overall creasing, crazing to the emulsion, some ink stains near the top edge, and a missing lower left corner tip. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. After spending 22 seasons in Detroit, Cobb made his debut with the Philadelphia Athletics one day after he signed this photograph, April 12, 1927. With the A's at age 40, Cobb batted an impressive .357 in 133 games played. A superb action pose inscribed by the legendary hitter.
