Rare and fantastic 1907 Winthrop Moving Picture Postcard Company Joe McGinnity flipbook, 2.25 x 3.75, featuring the right-handed 'Iron Man' of the New York Giants warming up. In very good condition, with scattered soiling and a bit of chipping to edges. The Winthrop flipbook series featured three baseball players, all pitchers who would go on to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame—Christy Mathewson, Joe McGinnity, and Mordecai Brown. These flipbooks represent the first known moving pictures of any Major League players.
